Privacy Policy

Leash Posse helps families log their pets' walks, poops, and pees. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, from Sign in with Apple, Google, or email sign-up.
- Pet profiles: names, photos, species, breed, birthday, weight, and vet contact details you choose to add.
- Logs: poop and pee entries with time, notes, photos you take, and where they happened.
- Location: your location while you record a walk, and where a log was made. We only use location while you're using the app or recording a walk you started.
- Pet friends and playdates: which pets your pets are friends with, invite codes you create, reactions you send or receive, and playdates you plan (time, an optional place, and a note).
- Waitlist: if you join the beta on our website, your email address and when you signed up. We use it only to send beta invites and launch news. To invite you to the beta, we share your email with Apple, which sends the TestFlight invitation. We delete it if you ask.
- Device details: a notification token so we can send walk alerts, plus basic error and diagnostic information to keep the app working.
How we use it
- To run the app: saving logs and walks, syncing your family, and sending the notifications you've turned on.
- AI scan: when you ask for a scan, the photo is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate insights. Photos are processed to give you a result and aren't used to train AI models. Scan results are AI insights only, not veterinary advice.
- To keep the service safe and fix problems.
Who can see your data
- Your family: everyone you invite to your family can see its pets, logs, and walks, including live walks unless you turn live map sharing off.
- Your pet's friends: each pet has a small profile card with its name, species, and (if you add them) breed and photo. People who have your pet's invite link, and the families of pets your pet is friends with, can see that card. Friends see your pet's walk activity (like "Pillow went on a 32-min walk"), new friends, reactions, and playdates. Nothing else is shared unless you turn it on.
- Trusted friends: for each pet and each friend, you can choose to share walk routes (shown after a walk ends, never live), place names (like "at McCarren Park"), and potty counts (number of poops and pees, never photos or details). All of these are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Playdates: during a playdate walk, the two families on that playdate can see each other's live location, only until the walk ends. Live location is never shared if the walker has turned off "Share my live walk map".
- Service providers: we use Google (data and sign-in), Apple (sign-in, notifications, and weather), and Anthropic (AI scans). They only use your data to provide those services.
- We don't sell your personal information and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
Your choices
- Turn off walk alerts or live map sharing in Settings → Notifications.
- Choose what each friend can see, per pet: Pack tab → the friend's card → "What [your pet] shares with [their pet]". Walk routes (after the walk), places, and potty counts are each off by default.
- Turn off friend, reaction, and playdate notifications in Settings → Notifications → Friend activity.
- Unfriend or block a friend at any time from their card. They stop seeing your pet's new activity right away, open playdates are canceled, and anything you shared with them is removed. Items already in their feed may stay until they age out. Blocked friends aren't told they were blocked.
- Invite links expire after 7 days or 20 uses, and making a new link turns off the old one.
- Delete logs, photos, and walks at any time.
- Delete your account in the app, or by emailing us. This removes your personal data from our systems, except where we must keep it by law. Deleting a pet or your account also cancels open playdates and removes what was shared with friends; if you're the last person in your family, it removes your pets' friend connections, invite links, profile cards, and activity too.
