Beta tester guide

Thanks for testing Leash Posse! 🐾

Leash Posse logs your pet's walks, poops, and pees with the phone you already carry, and keeps your whole family in sync. This guide takes about 5 minutes. Then use it for real for a few days and tell us what you think.

1. Install

1. Install TestFlight, Apple's free app for trying betas: TestFlight on the App Store.
2. TestFlight uses your Apple ID, the same one you use for the App Store. There's no new account to make.
3. Open your invite email from TestFlight on your iPhone (check spam or promotions), tap View in TestFlight, then Accept and Install. Got a link or QR code instead? Open it on your iPhone.
4. Updates arrive automatically in TestFlight. New builds show up there.

2. Set up

• Sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
• Use the same sign-in every time (Apple or Google), including when the App Store version launches, so your walks, streaks, and pack carry over.
• Add your pet: name, photo, dog or cat. You can add more pets later from the + next to their icon.
• Allow location so walks can be recorded, and notifications so you hear when someone starts a walk.
• Invite your family: Settings → invite link. Everyone you invite sees the same pets, logs, and walks.
• Sent an invite to the wrong person? Settings → Family → Cancel invite links. Whoever created the family can also remove someone there; they lose access right away.

3. Log poops and pees

• Tap Poop or Pee on Today. That's it, one tap.
• Tap Edit on the little toast to add details, change the time, or log something from earlier.
• The two cards at the top show time since the last poop and the last pee.

4. Walks

• Tap Start a walk. Your iPhone records the route. Nothing goes on your pet.
• Log poops and pees during the walk from the app or right from your lock screen.
• Others in your family get a notification. Family can Watch live or Join.
• Passing the leash? Tap Hand off, or they tap Pick up, and the other person taps Accept.
• Walks count your steps, and each person's steps when you walk together.
• Walked a great loop? Save it as a favorite route, or draw one.
• Try Siri: "Start a walk in Leash Posse."

5. AI scan

• Add a photo to a poop log and tap Scan for an AI read on consistency and color.
• Testers get 2 scans per day.
• Scans are AI insights only, not veterinary advice. Talk to your vet about health concerns.

6. The Pack

• The Pack is for your pet's friends, not your family. Family shares everything; Pack friends see only what's listed here.
• Your pet's friends live in the Pack tab. Friends are pet to pet.
• Add a friend with a link, a QR code, or a code.
• Send reactions to friends' walks: paw, heart, poop, or laugh.
• Plan a playdate, then tap Start playdate walk to see each other live until the walk ends. Live location is only ever shared during a playdate walk.
• Trusted friends can also see routes (after the walk), places, and potty counts, if you turn them on. All of these are off by default.
• Tap a friend to Unfriend or Block.

7. Worth a look

• History: everything as a list or on a map.
• Stats: trends you can show your vet.
• Settings → Notifications: walk alerts, friend activity, live map sharing, and Count my steps.
• Have an iPhone Duo? Open it up for side-by-side views. On an open iPhone Duo, the map fills the screen for drawing a route.
